Fractal Art

Enjoy these hi-res/low compression jpg's of my fractal art. They are sized for desktop wallpaper but feel free to use them on your non-commercial website. These images represent my best work in fractal art to date.

More About Fractals

Fractals are self similar patterns encoded within the structure of the integers. The steps to generate the classic "Mandelbrot set" fractal image are as simple and universal as graphing an exponential equation on a 2d plane. A few thousand iterations of the equation are required so it is not suprising that the Mandelbrot set was seen by the first human eyes only 20 years ago.

---

Since that time, thousands of new methods for visualizing fractals have been invented by mathematicians. Fortuantly, creating your own fractal art doesn't require a math degree with the powerful software Ultra Fractal.

There are only a handful of "professional" fractal artists out there:

Janet Parke

Mark Townsend

Etienne Saint-Amant
